St. Paul’s Celebrates Cinco de Mayo

Saturday, May 5

St. Paul’s Church is hosting San Pablo’s Cinco de Mayo Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at 1835 Church Lane.

23rd Street Hosts Cinco de Mayo

Sunday, May 6

Richmond will host its Cinco de Mayo festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 6, on 23rd Street between Clinton and Rheem avenues.

The annual event, which is organized by the 23rd Street Merchants Association, will include live music, dancing, and wrestling on three entertainment stages. Local merchants will serve traditional foods and there will be a variety of kids’ activities.

Richmond Bikes to Work

Thursday, May 10

May is National Bike Month and Richmond will celebrate with Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 10.

The City of Richmond will host four Energizer Stations across the Richmond community in collaboration with Bike East Bay, 511 Contra Costa, Richmond BPAC, Rich City Rides, and SunPower.

Cyclists can stop by on their way to work for refreshments and a Bike to Work Day bag filled with promotional materials from local businesses.

The Energizer Stations will be located along key bicycle routes and open from 7 to 9 a.m.:

  • Richmond BART (open 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.)
  • Marina Bay Park (along the Bay Trail)
  • San Pablo Avenue and the Richmond Greenway/Ohlone Bike Trail
  • 16th Street and Richmond Greenway (between Ohio Avenue and Chanslor Avenue)

Bike to Work Day will end with a happy hour at from 4 to 7 p.m. at East Brother Beer Company, 1001 Canal Blvd. The event will include food, brews, and games. To register, visit www.RichmondBTWD2018.eventbrite.com.

 

City Seeks Input for 23rd Street Redesign

Saturday, May 26

The City of Richmond is seeking input from residents and business owners as it updates the 23rd Street Streetscape Improvement Plan.

City officials will sponsor a community workshop to gather comments on the plan from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Richmond High School, 1250 23rd St.

The community workshop is an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to share ideas and provide input on the future design of 23rd Street.
