Fundraising for Santa
Thursday, Dec. 6
Santa’s coming to Richmond early for the Richmond Main Street Fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, at East Brother Beer Company, 1001 Canal Street.
Beer, food, selfies with Santa, an ugly sweater contest, raffle prizes and more will be available at the fundraiser for the Richmond Main Street Initiative’s annual Holiday Festival.
Entry is free with proceeds from beer and raffle ticket sales going to support the annual Holiday festival.
Family Volunteer Day
Saturday, Dec. 8
Families are invited to take part in the Family Volunteer Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Richmond Recreation Complex, 3230 MacDonald Avenue, and Nichol Park.
Put together by Richmond Community Services, Richmond Love Your Block, ServiceWorks Richmond and the Richmond Tool Library, community members are encouraged to join in beautifying the areas surrounding the building as well as the nearby Nichol Park. Following the clean up, the Richmond Tool Library will be teaching volunteers how to make their very own personalized planter box.
Lunch, tools and supplies will be provided to volunteers for the clean up session as well as keeping their homemade planter box (while supplies last).

7th Annual Downtown Holiday Festival
Wednesday, Dec. 12
Celebrate Christmas early on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the 7th annual Richmond Holiday Festival at the East Bay Center for Performing Arts, 339 11th Street.
This free event is free and open to all with doors opening at 4 p.m. Santa will be there from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., “Richmond Nutcracker” performances at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and a Holiday Street Lighting at 7:45 p.m.
There will also be food, music, caroling and family-friendly spirited crafts and activities.

A Nautical Christmas in Point Richmond
Sunday, Dec. 16
Don your favorite nautical-themed holiday attire and hit the dance floors at the Harbor Hop on Sunday, Dec. 16 in the clubhouse of the Point San Pablo Harbor, 1900 Stenmark Dr., Richmond.
From 1 to 5 p.m., the Silver Bell Trio will be performing hot jazz sounds alongside DJ Keith Azoubel, who will be playing swing and jump blues. It’s an all-ages event with food, parking, a fire pit, barbecue, wine, beer and more.
Tickets are $5 and space is limited to 100 people, so advanced purchases are recommended for entrance. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.com.
While the music starts at 1 p.m. in the clubhouse, attendees are encouraged to join in the fun early starting at 11 a.m. in the new Nobilis diner next door.
