An unidentified person was arrested more than two weeks ago on unspecified charges related to an alleged illegal weapons cache in Richmond, according to the California Attorney General’s Office.
On Jan. 31, law enforcement personnel, including agents from the California Department of Justice’s Bureau of Firearms, served a warrant at the suspect’s home and found a large collection of weapons and ammunition, according to state prosecutors.
The suspect is reportedly barred by law from owning guns.
During the search, “agents seized approximately 11 military-style machine guns, 133 handguns, 37 rifles, 60 assault rifles, 7 shotguns, 20 silencers, 4 flare guns, 3,000 large capacity magazines, approximately one million rounds of miscellaneous caliber ammunition, and dozens of rifle receivers and pistol frames,” according to the Attorney General’s Office.
No additional information about the suspect, any charges or the investigation was released.
