31 Jan San Pablo Offering Financial Support to Young People Pursuing Education and Training

The city of San Pablo has launched the San Pablo Scholarship Pilot Program for 2025, to provide financial support to residents pursuing post-high school education and career technical training.
The scholarship aims to empower San Pablo youth under 24 with resources to succeed in higher education and vocational training.
The program is funded by the city’s general fund and only available to city residents.
It provides financial empowerment classes, paid credit union membership, food security resources, and valuable coaching and networking opportunities.
“The San Pablo scholarship is a vital resource for our community, and we are excited to see the impact the public funds have on the lives of our youth, empowering them to create brighter futures,” said Paola Cubias-Shirazi, a community services coordinator for the city.
The scholarship application asks students to share goals and plans, providing the selection committee with insight into how the funds will support their post-secondary ambitions.
Proof of age and residency in incorporated San Pablo is required for all applicants.
“We have a collaborative team to support the city of San Pablo youth pursue their career ambitions and break through barriers to opportunity,” said Leslay Choy, executive director, San Pablo Economic Development Corporation. “We’ll help you do it with financial savvy so that you start a career with no to low debt and keep more of your earnings working for you.”
