A 23-year-old man identified as the suspect in the shooting of an 11-year-old girl “should be considered armed and dangerous,” Antioch police said Friday.
Ryan Hardy is being sought after the child was shot in the head Monday while sitting in the passenger seat of her family’s car in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3915 Delta Fair Boulevard, police said.
The child was taken to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. She remained in stable condition Friday, Detective John Cox said.
The family didn’t appear to have been the intended targets, police said.
Investigators said several people have assisted Hardy in evading law enforcement. They and anyone who knowingly assists Hardy will be subject to arrest for accessory, police said.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Antioch Police Detective John Cox at (925) 481-8147 or via email at jcox@antiochca.gov.
Anyone who sees Hardy in public or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
