BART is seeking out new task force members that aim to make public transit more accessible to seniors and people with disabilities.

Announced Friday, the BART Accessibility Task Force is recruiting new members of the public to provide input to the BART Board of Directors on disability-related issues, policies and capital projects.

BATF meets on the fourth Thursday of every month from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the East Bay Paratransit Office in Oakland.

Member responsibilities include sharing input on current issues brought to BATF by the public or the Board, developing recommendations, participating in the planning of new services for seniors and people with disabilities and acting as a resource to BART staff.

Residents have to attend three of four consecutive BATF meetings before applying for membership. The schedule of upcoming meetings is available on BART’s website: https://www.bart.gov/about/bod/advisory/accessibility.
