Contra Costa Fire Protection District is hosting a special fire safety town hall at 10 a.m. Saturday in Pinole to help residents prepare for wildfire season.

In addition to answering questions, fire personnel will discuss prevention, planning for evacuations by signing up for the county’s community warning system, using the Zonehaven digital evacuation tool, and steps to take during and after a fire.

They will also share weed abatement deadlines, creating defensible space, and the importance of an emergency “go bag.”

They will also discuss public safety resources firefighters will use to respond to wildfires.

The meeting is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Pinole City Hall Council Chambers, at 2131 Pear Street in Pinole. The meeting can also be viewed at Con Fire’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/contracostafire.
